One of the more modest sized landscapes in the Sept 2020 ArtBase show collection titled: IMMENSITIES A sense of deep ineffable peace, a calm that stretches out of you and across the bay. Cape Tenaro, otherwise known as Cape Matapan is the southernmost point of mainland Greece. You follow a grassy path which begins from the Byzantine chapel of Agioi Asomatoi, built on the remains of Poseidon Sanctuary and Death Oracle to reach the Cave of Hades, the mythical gates to the underworld. This place may be the legendary entrance to hell, and yet I’ve never felt a sense of calm like that anywhere else in this world. 87.5×44.5cm (34.5×17.5in) UNFRAMED but with an attached hanging device, Mixed: Acrylic Paints, Permanent Ink, Oil Pastel on Wood, €500 Buy now.
