Malcolm X

My single line drawing of MALCOLM X.

A viewer asked, Why would I put this portrait of Malcolm X on my walls?
My answer: His presence would bring an awareness of human rights & heighten the political consciousness of my children. It’s our duty to inculcate an outspoken attitude, self-reliance, pride, self defence, articulation, representation & teach the power of using your words.
Most importantly, although many cultures are blended in our little family, we are white-presenting, so we must teach our children that complacency with any inequality or injustice is fundamentally wrong. White silence is violence.
